Online Therapy for Expats
Feel at Home Within Yourself
Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy for expats and
culturally diverse internationals
Living between cultures can be both enriching and challenging.
At times, the process of adjusting to a new environment, navigating identity, or coping with feelings of disconnection - such as expat loneliness or homesickness abroad - can feel overwhelming.

As an expat therapist and psychologist specializing in culturally sensitive therapy and CBT for expats, I offer a supportive space to explore these experiences with compassion and clarity.
Together, we can work toward greater balance, self-understanding, and a stronger sense of connection—so you can feel more at home within yourself and your life abroad.

WHO THIS SERVICE IS FOR
Expat Counselling & Cross-Cultural Support
This service is designed for adults who:

-
Are living abroad or moving between cultures and feel unsettled or “in-between.”
-
Struggle with identity conflict or uncertainty about who they are across cultural contexts.
-
Experience emotional disconnection, expat loneliness, or difficulty forming meaningful relationships.
-
Want support managing stress, anxiety, or the challenges of adaptation (culture shock symptoms, adjustment disorder therapy).
-
Professionals navigating high-stress careers while living abroad (therapy for professionals, stress management therapy).
You’re not alone in these experiences. Many expats and people navigating life across cultures face similar challenges, and expat therapy or cross-cultural counselling can provide guidance, practical tools, and emotional support to navigate them with greater ease.
Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
What CBT Is
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for expats is an evidence-based approach that helps you understand the connection between your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors.
In our work together, we’ll identify unhelpful patterns, explore the beliefs and habits that may be keeping you stuck, and practice strategies to create meaningful change. CBT is practical, structured, and empowering - it gives you tools you can use in your daily life to feel more grounded, balanced, and confident.
How CBT Can Help You
Through therapy for expats and multicultural therapy, you can expect to:

-
Gain a greater sense of belonging – feel more at home within yourself and your environment.
-
Clarify your identity – integrate different parts of who you are across cultures with more confidence.
-
Reconnect emotionally – strengthen your connection to yourself and meaningful relationships.
-
Develop practical coping tools – manage stress, overthinking, and challenging emotions (stress management therapy).
-
Build resilience in transition – navigate cultural and life changes with stability and ease (adjustment disorder therapy, culture shock symptoms).
-
Enhance self-compassion – soften self-criticism and approach yourself with kindness.
-
Support long-term well-being – develop routines and lifestyle practices that sustain mental and emotional health.

My Holistic, Whole-Person Approach
I view CBT as more than a set of techniques - it’s an approach that honors the whole person. For expats and multicultural people, this means integrating combining evidence-based methods with cultural sensitivity and lifestyle integration.
Together, we might explore:
-
Routines, sleep, and movement that support stability in uncertain times.
-
Nutrition and self-care practices that enhance resilience.
-
Emotional processing around identity, belonging, and loss.
-
Cultural influences that shape your perspectives and coping strategies.
This holistic focus helps you not only manage immediate difficulties, but also cultivate lasting balance, resilience, and connection - within yourself and across the cultures you navigate.
What to Expect in Sessions: Virtual Therapy for Expats
First session:
In your initial session, we’ll focus on understanding your unique experiences and challenges, creating a safe and supportive space where you feel heard. Together, we’ll begin exploring patterns in your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, and identify initial strategies to help you feel more grounded.

Ongoing sessions:
In subsequent sessions, we’ll build on this foundation, practicing practical CBT tools, addressing adjustment and identity challenges, and supporting your emotional well-being as you navigate life abroad. Each session is collaborative, gentle, and tailored to your needs, combining structured exercises with reflection and discussion to create meaningful change.

All sessions are conducted online, offering flexibility and comfort no matter where you are living. I am an English-speaking therapist online, providing virtual therapy for expats in English and German, ensuring language is never a barrier to receiving care.
